As we prepare to celebrate Batman Day, we’re excited to announce that our next hybrid trading cards collection will be themed after the Caped Crusader himself as well as other epic Gotham City characters!

The “Batman 85 Years” hybrid trading cards collection will launch on October 29, 2024 at about 9:00 a.m. PDT, and we’ll begin accepting pre-orders via the Hro Shop on October 15, 2024 at about 9:00 a.m. PDT.

 We’ll also have something special for the first Hros who pre-order, so keep reading below for more details!

“Batman 85 Years” will be the most limited hybrid trading cards collection in DC Cards by Hro history. It will only be available via CDU at $119.99 each, with only 3,000 CDUs ever available to be sold. Each CDU contains 24 flow packs.

 But that’s not all: each holographic card (Epic-tier through Hro-tier) will unlock a bonus digital trading cards pack as well.

And, of course, there will be special Rewards for the Hros who participate in this release with us. For anyone able to collect all of the card designs across the specific rarity tiers of “Batman 85 Years” as well as those atop the community leaderboards at the time of our snapshot on January 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. PST…they’ll be eligible to receive some incredible Rewards Cards featuring brand-new, original artwork.

For those of you who pre-order two CDUs early, you’ll receive a hybrid Mythic-tier card featuring brand-new, original artwork of Robin. Only 500 of these cards exist, so make sure you place your order before they run out!

Now, let’s dive into the full collection itself:

This collection’s assortment of cards spans several different rarity tiers and card categories. The rarest cards in this collection (Legendary-tier through Hro-tier) will feature brand-new, original artwork.

To celebrate Batman's 85th anniversary, we also created brand-new, original artwork featuring unforgettable Super Heroes from Gotham City and beyond to inspire our Legendary-tier, Mythic-tier, and Hro-tier card designs.

Nine card designs featuring brand-new, original artwork of the following characters: → Alfred Pennyworth

→ Azrael (Jean-Paul Valley) → Batman (Jace Fox) → Batwoman (Kate Kane) → Black Canary (Dinah Lance) → Flamebird (Bette Kane) – first standalone Hro appearance → Jim Gordon → Nightwing (Dick Grayson) → The Question (Renee Montoya) – first standalone Hro appearance

This time around, there are two Hro-tier cards up for grabs, but one is ultra-rare with only 15 mints!

On January 15, 2025, we’ll take a snapshot that’ll determine who will receive the “Batman 85 Years” Rewards Cards. Just like with previous hybrid collections, these Rewards will include 10 brand-new, original designs created just for our Hro community. Nine of these designs will ultimately have the ability to fuse together into one whole, composite image. And then that composite image will be our 10th Rewards Card…just jumbo-sized to encapsulate all 85 years of Batman’s history to date!

The top 10 Hros on the “Batman 85 Years” 2024 hybrid leaderboard will be the only ones eligible to receive this incredible prize of the composite group shot featuring all nine Rewards Card characters in one place. 

Note: the “Jumbo” Rewards Cards may be produced and distributed at a date after the initial airdrop of the digital Rewards Cards. The physical “Jumbo” Rewards Card will be shipped to the original recipient whose eligibility was determined at the time of our “Batman 85 Years” Rewards snapshot...not the present-day owner of the design's digital collectible twin at the time of fulfillment.

The individual Rewards Cards are digital-only. To be eligible to receive one or more of them as an airdrop, you’ll need to either collect all of the cards in a certain rarity level or rise to the top of the community leaderboard for the drop. Below is what’s up for grabs and how you can earn each card:

The top 50 collectors on the “Batman 85 Years” hybrid collection leaderboard will also receive some highly sought-after uncut trading cards sheets based on the following breakdown:

In addition to these unforgettable card designs above, we have a bonus digital pack available for our Hros too!

The “Batman 85 Years": Character Spotlights bonus digital pack provides Hros the opportunity to claim a 2-card digital pack, featuring primarily Common-tier designs (with a small chance of Uncommon-tier, Epic-tier, or Legendary-tier designs). *More specific odds will be provided in a future post.

Hros can then combine cards to level up through crafting experiences:

To claim your bonus digital pack, just scan in any holographic card (Epic tier through Hro tier) from the "Batman 85 Years'' hybrid trading cards main collection into the Hro mobile app!

And, of course, there will be a Leaderboard Rewards Card for all eligible collectors in the Top 300 for this bonus digital drop, as well as a Completion Rewards Card for eligible collectors who complete the entire “Batman 85 Years”: Character Spotlights assortment.

The digital pack cards feature brand-new, original artwork of the following characters:

A Mythic-tier leaderboard Rewards Card featuring Batman of Zur-En-Arrh (Bruce Wayne) will be airdropped to all eligible collectors with positions in the Top 300 of the "Batman 85 Years": Character Spotlights digital leaderboard (based on the collection snapshot on January 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. PST).

Additionally, a Mythic-tier Completion Rewards Card featuring all five characters from the Legendary-tier cards in one epic team-up shot will be airdropped to select Hros. In order to be eligible, collectors must possess all of the digital cards (Common through Legendary tiers) from the "Batman 85 Years": Character Spotlights digital pack collection before the snapshot on January 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. PST.

Lastly, as a reminder, the End of Season 2 Hybrid Rewards Cards allow holders to receive a limited number of FREE “Batman 85 Years” hybrid trading cards packs! There will be a snapshot of all End of Season 2 Hybrid Rewards Card holders on October 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. PDT to determine eligibility. Then, based on that snapshot, mailing address collection will begin the week of October 21, 2024 with planned shipment of the “Batman 85 Years” hybrid collection packs to start going out by the end of the month.

We are so excited to share our new collection with you on October 29th! Some questions came up in the flurry of our announcement, and we wanted to answer them.

This is a hybrid Chapter collection.

CDU is a retail term for counter display unit, also known as a mega box or mega booster.

Clarification on hybrid EOS Rewards:

We mistakenly published that only 3,000 CDUs will be produced. This did not take into account End of Season Rewards packs. Our News post has been updated to clarify that there will only ever be 3,000 CDUs available for sale.

With regard to:

Yes. There will be a limit of ten “Early Hro Pre-Order Bundles” per household starting from 9:00 a.m. PDT until 5:00 p.m. PDT. After this time, there will be no additional limits, including on-sale.

The pre-order exclusive Mythic-tier card mints will be allocated at random to ensure fairness to all collectors.

The pre-order exclusive Mythic-tier card and both Hro-tier cards will not count towards any completion requirements. All three cards will count towards the overall collection leaderboard.

The bonus digital pack leaderboard Rewards Card will be distributed to the top 300 collectors atop the digital pack leaderboard at the time of the snapshot.

As much as we love to visit our Hros in New York, we will not be in attendance this year.
