We have some exciting news, Hros! For anyone who joined us as we debuted the DC x Hro Limited-Edition Events Collection last year at San Diego Comic-Con (and all fans who were able to snag packs afterward from our store or at additional conventions!), we’re proud to unveil some special Rewards opportunities coming your way! Be sure to mark your calendars for July 6, 2023 at 5PM UTC, which is when a snapshot will be taken to determine eligibility.
So, let’s get into the details! The first Reward is tied to completing the entire 18-card set that was released last year. And the best way to celebrate the Hros who pulled off this feat is naturally by adding to that already epic collection with a Mythic Reward Card, right? We thought so, too.
But we didn’t want it to be just any Mythic card, so we came up with something that will really feel like the perfect addition to this special group of designs: a matching back cover to be paired with our existing DC x Hro Events Collection Mythic card that showcases “Crisis on Infinite Earths” #1. In other words, the new Mythic Reward will pair up directly with the existing Mythic card in the set, and together they will form one cohesive wraparound cover in celebration of that iconic storyline.
Sound good? If so, make sure you check out the marketplace to complete your sets now! Eligibility will be determined based on the final count of completed sets at the time of the snapshot.
Leaderboard Rewards & Voting
But the Rewards don’t end there…of course we’ll be recognizing those who sit atop our community leaderboard as well!
Similar to how we’ve offered up the opportunity to influence brand-new art commissions in the past, that’s exactly what we’re going to do this time around, too…with our leaders for the DC x Hro Events Collection getting the chance to select characters to feature in the artwork that will become these two new Rewards Cards.
After the two characters are selected, we’ll immediately get started on the art development in collaboration with Warner Bros. Consumer Products and their talented design partners.
Now, let’s get into the tiers and how the voting is going to work!
Eligibility will be based on these leaderboard positions:
- The top 150 collectors for the DC x Hro Events Collection will receive a Hro tier card featuring a character from the list below, as voted on by the community
- The top 300 collectors for the DC x Hro Events Collection will receive a Mythic card featuring a character from the list below, as voted on by the community
Whichever character receives the most votes will be the star of that Hro tier card granted to the top 150 on the leaderboard…and the character with the secondmost votes will be featured in the Mythic card presented to the top 300 on the leaderboard.
Characters to be voted on in the DC: Events Rewards
The following six characters will be voted on by the top collectors on the DC: Events collection leaderboard:
At this point, you’re probably wondering which characters are in the running, so we’ll get to that right now! Each one of these six Super Heroes and Super-Villains has been an integral player within DC’s historic Multiverse moments, and that’s exactly why we’ve chosen them for this opportunity. But now the choice is yours, so let’s get to it!
- Wonder Woman (as seen inDark Nights: Death Metal)
- Superman [(Earth 2) as seen inInfinite Crisis]
- Barbatos (as seen inDark Nights: Death Metal) – If selected, this would be the first time a Barbatos card as appeared in any Hro set
- Harbinger (as seen inCrisis on Infinite Earths) – If selected, this would be the first time a Harbinger card has appeared in any Hro set
- Reverse-Flash (as seen inFlashpoint)
- Mazahs! [(Earth 3) as seen inForever Evil]
