We're thrilled to unveil our first limited-edition hybrid trading cards collection of Season 2024! For this collection, we’re going back in time to rediscover some classic artwork by journeying through the nostalgia of DC’s archives.

Of course, just like with our previous limited-edition hybrid collection, there will be some epic Rewards for the Hros who complete the full set and/or sit atop the community leaderboards at the time of our snapshot on May 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. PT.

These boxes will be available for sale on January 24, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. PT at the Hro Shop! To make sure everyone gets a chance to grab this set, we will be limiting orders to ten units per household address for the first 48 hours.

Whether you grew up reading DC comic books or are new to the fold as a part of your collecting journey with Hro, we're so excited to unveil these retro designs that'll take you on an adventure spanning DC's early history! Let's dive into what you can expect from this latest drop:

First of all, there are four different box designs for the “Vintage DC Comic Covers'' collection. Our box assortment, printed with holographic white foil on a series of yellow boxes, is randomized, opening up an extra adventure for any Hros who want to display all four boxes as a part of their physical collections.

As for the cards in the overall hybrid assortment, there are 21 designs that all feature nostalgic artwork throughout DC history. Let’s take a trip down memory lane…

While most of these cards will be in our traditional sizing, we're excited to announce that this collection also features three Mega Card designs, which clock in at about 3.46 x 4.96 in. Each one is assigned to a different rarity level and unlocks a bonus set of digital trading cards on top of the hybrid packs...but more on that later! 

Each “Vintage DC Comic Covers” hybrid collection box is guaranteed to contain at least one holographic Mega Card along with nine traditional-sized cards (including two traditional holos). There are three different Mega Card designs, and they all feature robot battle-themed illustrations...that's right--even way back then, DC was thinking about futuristic sci-fi storytelling! Here's how the rarity levels shake out:

And now that we’ve covered our Mega Cards, let's talk a bit about the main cards in our collection. Below is a breakdown of the different rarity levels for the traditional assortment as well as how many designs fall under each tier:

And, speaking of Mythics, surprise! We've randomly distributed a very small amount of "mythical" hybrid trading card packs that contain rare designs and rare designs only. That's right--if you're one of the lucky Hros who finds one, you'll snag the only Mythic-tier card design in the traditional collection along with both Legendary-tier cards, all three Epic-tier cards, and all three Superior-tier cards from the traditional collection. 

It might just be the most epic pull of your trading story...happy hunting!

The competition snapshot for the “Vintage DC Comic Covers" drop will take place on May 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. PT, which will determine who's eligible to receive our brand-new Rewards Cards featuring Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman! 

COMPLETION REWARD 

Anyone able to collect all 21 cards in the hybrid set will be eligible to receive a special completion Rewards Card. And, while the rarity level of this design is a mystery for now (because it will be based on the total number of completed sets at the time of the snapshot), we can tell you that it features the cover artwork from Sensation Comics #11 (1942) starring Wonder Woman! As always with hybrid sets, mint numbers will be assigned based on leaderboard position. 

LEADERBOARD REWARDS 

In addition to the completion Rewards Card, we'll also be offering up leaderboard Rewards Cards to eligible collectors who secure themselves a spot in the top 150 or 300 for this hybrid drop. 

- For the top 150 eligible Hros, the cover artwork from Detective Comics #33 (1939) will be featured on the Hro-tier card, and for the top 300 eligible Hros, the cover artwork from Superman #15 (1942) will be featured on the Mythic-tier design. Oh, and yes--that of course means that the top 150 eligible Hros will receive BOTH cards as a Reward!

UNCUT SHEET REWARDS

And the fun doesn’t stop there…we will be offering uncut sheets for the top 50 eligible Hros on the "Vintage DC Comic Covers" leaderboard! Uncut sheets will be rewarded in the following ranking order:

And last but not least: here are all of the details about that bonus digital pack that our Mega Cards unlock! After scanning in the QR code from the back of the Mega Card in your “Vintage DC Comic Covers” hybrid box, you’ll receive two digital cards from the “Vintage DC Comic Covers”: All-Star Comics digital collection…PLUS 5,000 Hro Points for the Epic-tier card, 10,000 Hro Points for the Legendary-tier card, and/or 15,000 Hro Points for the Mythic-tier card!

The “Vintage DC Comic Covers”: All-Star Comics digital trading card set is themed after the cover artwork starring some Justice Society of America characters who appeared in All-Star Comics #43 (1948). There are four unique designs you can receive, each one focused on a different member of the Justice Society of America as follows:

But that’s not all! Collect all four cards from the bonus digital pack PLUS 18,889 Hro Points for the opportunity to combine them together and craft a special, Legendary-tier card design starring Black Canary (Dinah Drake)! There are 500 of these cards available,

In addition to this, a Mythic leaderboard Rewards Card featuring the entire comic book cover of All-Star Comics #43 (1948) will be airdropped to the top 300 eligible Hros on the bonus "DC Vintage Comic Covers”: All-Star Comics digital  leaderboard after the collection snapshot on May 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. PT.

And, as a reminder, the Digital End of Season 1 Hybrid Reward Cards allow holders to be eligible to receive a limited number of FREE “Vintage DC Comic Covers” hybrid boxes! There will be a snapshot of all End of Season 1 Reward Card holders on January 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. PT to determine eligibility. Then, based upon that snapshot, address collection will begin the week of February 6, 2024, with planned shipment of the “Vintage DC Comic Covers“ hybrid boxes to start going out by early March.
